Though we began the trip not expecting much, we felt grateful just to have the cost of our car rental covered by the Boro sponsorship. Since we are shy people by nature, we were initially unsure if we would be able to complete challenges that required us to talk to strangers. However, we took it in our stride and leveraged the opportunity to help and support each other to be more confident in approaching strangers.
Most importantly, we realized that the Boro Road Trip Challenge gave our trip a distinctive dimension that we had never experienced before - from seeing amazing waterfalls we would never have made the time to visit, to practicing singing in the car to fill the time on long drives, to stepping out of our comfort zone to talk to people along the way and thus realizing everybody was actually very friendly.
It wasn’t until the end of the trip that we realized how far we had travelled, and how much we had explored and challenged together. We all agreed that even if we didn't win the competition, the memories we made along the way were worth all the effort. Not to mention the fact that the loveliest souvenirs we are going to cherish are our Boro T-shirts with signatures we collected from many different people we encountered along our journey in 6 different states.
Winning the competition is certainly a huge bonus. We sincerely appreciate Boro for the support they provided throughout the challenge, as well as for offering us this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to embark on this unforgettable road trip.
Route 66, 2,448 miles, a dream road starting from Chicago and ending at the City of Los Angeles. For us, it is not just a 7-day trip stopping at “the City of Angels”, but an inspiration leading us to explore and unveil the very bright future of each one of us. Thanks to Boro for providing this golden opportunity to let us be creative and fun again! Without those challenging tasks assigned, we wouldn’t even think of turning our minivan into a “Moving Karaoke Castle”, or being professional state sign collectors, or viewing the world from a totally different angle. The most unexpected but extremely beautiful thing is that we have encountered so many friendly faces and marvelous scenery. We have to say that the laughter, the melody and the memory behind those photos along the way have definitely witnessed our precious friendship. We really appreciate Weston for honoring us the award!
